We know Alfons Dudziec went to Hackensack High School because his name is on the Original Wall Unit at Hackensack High School. Alfonso Duziec was listed on the Original Wall Unit at Hackensack High School with a gold star next to his name signifying the ultimate sacrifice.

  We are spelling Alfons S. Dudziec with middle initial because that is how it is written on the Plaque at Hackensack’s City Hall and that tends to be more accurate, when recording a man’s ultimate sacrifice on a city plaque. While George Toriello was researching veterans, he found that Alfons S. Dudziec’s sister was Bernice A. Dudziec. Bernice A. Dudziec’s name is listed right below his on the Original Wall Unit at Hackensack High School.

Bernice A. Dudziec rose to the rank of Major.

Alfons Stanley Dudziec was born on March 29, 1923 and was killed in action on July 15, 1944 in France.

  He received the Purple Heart and World War II Victory Medal.  He is buried in France at the Normandy American Cemetery. He served in the U.S. Army as a Technician 5th grade with the 322nd Field Artillery Battalion 83 Infantry Division.
